Das Update der Extrem 3D beinhaltet nun eine HDMI 1.4 Schnittstelle für "full resolution" 3D Aufzeichnung und Wiedergabe.
Die Überarbeitung macht es nun auch möglich, "schwache" SDI Signale am Eingang der Karte zu re-clocken.

Die neue Decklink HD Extrem 3D mit HDMI 1.4 Technologie kann nun durch das "Frame-Packing" auch 3D in voller Auflösung verarbeiten. Im Gegensatz zu den stereoscopischen side by side, line by line und top bottom Methoden für die Übertragung von linkem und rechtem Auge - wie in HDMI 1.3 spezifiziert - geht im "Frame Packing" Verfahren eben nicht die halbe Auflösung verloren.

Natürlich bleiben die "alten" Modis weiterhin verfügbar, allein um mit den HDMI 1.3 Displays kompatibel zu bleiben.

Die neue Decklink HD Extrem 3D kann nun von HDMI 1.4 - konformen Quellen auch zwei voll-Aufgelöste Files für jeweils linkes und rechtes Auge via HDMI aufzeichnen.

Die DeckLink HD Extreme 3D bietet über3Gb- SDI weiterhin Single- und Dual-Channel Capturing und Playout für sowohl herkömmliche 2D- als auch stereoskopische 3D-Workflows.

DeckLink HD Extreme 3D unterstützt 3D Workflows auf Basis von Interleaved oder Dual Stream Capture und Playback. Beim Interleaved Verfahren werden die Signale für das rechte und linke Auge per Multiplexing als Fields in einem Datenstrom zusammengefasst, den man wie gewohnt in der Schnittsoftware bearbeiten kann. Bei Dual Stream nutzt HD Extreme 3D die beiden SDI Anschlüsse, um zwei unabhängige Signal für linkes und rechtes Auge ein- und auszuspielen, die dann auch als zwei getrennte Videodateien gespeichert werden. In diesem Fall ist die Qualität höher, da beide Signale in voller Auflösung vorliegen, allerdings ist die Bearbeitung in aktueller Schnittsoftware schwieriger.
